Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Drywall Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost, materials, and labor required for drywall construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of drywall installation, blueprint reading, and estimating software to ensure precise project proposals and competitive bidding.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate drywall estimates.
  • Conduct material take-offs and labor cost assessments to develop comprehensive project estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information.
  • Identify potential project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and alternative solutions.
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
  • Track and manage estimate revisions based on project changes and client requests.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to stay informed about current pricing and industry trends.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimating process and improve accuracy.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and provide support to project managers during pre-construction planning.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, building codes, and drywall installation techniques.

 

Requirements

 

  • Proven experience as a Drywall Estimator or in a similar construction estimating role.
  • Strong knowledge of drywall materials, installation methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and bidding procedures is a plus.
