Position Overview:

The Lead Superintendent will be responsible for leading field operations and ensuring that all aspects of multifamily construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the highest quality standards. This individual will play a crucial role in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution

  • Serve as the contractor’s on-site representative, overseeing daily construction activities.
  • Develop and implement construction procedures based on project specifications, staffing needs, and timelines.
  • Interpret contract documents to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure all trades align with project schedules.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.
  • Review and report on self-perform production budgets and costs.
  • Order and manage the procurement of tools and materials according to the construction schedule.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship meets quality standards and adheres to deadlines.
  • Conduct weekly subcontractor and owner meetings to review project status.
  • Monitor and update daily project reports using Procore.

Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and enforce proper safety protocols.
  • Lead Plan of the Day (POD) meetings with subcontractors to discuss safety and workflow.
  • Perform regular stormwater and safety inspections, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Investigate and document any job site accidents or incidents.

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure proper allocation of resources, equipment, and workforce to optimize efficiency.
  • Utilize Procore, ASTA Scheduling, and Lean Scheduling methodologies to track progress and anticipate project needs.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on Multifamily projects, including wood-frame construction.
  • Experience with large civil site work (earthmoving) is preferred.
  • Strong background in construction specifications, building materials, and site operations.
  • Experience working with general contractors on multifamily and wood-frame projects.
  • Ability to oversee multiple phases of a large project and collaborate with senior-level superintendents.
  • Strong scheduling, safety, and quality control expertise.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Suite, ASTA Scheduling, and Lean Scheduling is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Salary:

  • The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and project location.
