Preconstruction Manager

• Compensation: $130,000 – $145,000 (DOE)

About the Role & the Company

A leading Nebraska-based contractor is hiring Preconstruction Managers, Estimators, and BIM/VDC Engineers to support upcoming projects across the light industrial, commercial, education, and multifamily sectors.

We’re looking for professionals with the leadership and estimating expertise to manage complex preconstruction efforts. This role will lead front-end planning, bid strategy, and subcontractor coordination from concept through turnover.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple estimates and preconstruction schedules across active pursuits
• Lead subcontractor outreach, scope development, and bid evaluations
• Support proposal preparation and client-facing presentations (CMAR, Design-Build)
• Coordinate handoff from preconstruction to field operations teams
• Implement value engineering and maintain accurate cost modeling

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project planning
• Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, phasing, and cost control
• Time management skills and ability to handle concurrent pursuits
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CMAR and Design-Build project delivery
• Proven coordination of project handoff to field teams
• Familiarity with Nebraska subcontractor markets
• Experience mentoring junior estimators or supporting internal training
• Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams
