Position Overview:

Sky Blue Builders is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Engineer to support the execution and delivery of construction projects across the Denver Metro area. The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in all phases of project planning, coordination, and execution. This position ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage submittal logs; review and track submittals for compliance with specifications

  • Generate and log RFIs; review RFI content before submission to design teams

  • Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractor schedules in line with project timelines

  • Support the creation and maintenance of construction schedules and procurement logs

  • Perform routine site walks to monitor safety, cleanliness, and progress; report findings

  • Assist with field layout, trade coordination, and quality inspections

  • Take weekly jobsite photos and generate daily field reports

  • Review job cost status reports with Project Manager

  • Support subcontractor change order pricing and documentation

  • Lead punch list activities and assist with closeout documentation

  • Attend and document project meetings; maintain as-built drawings

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external trade partners

  • Ensure project compliance with safety and quality standards


Qualifications:

  • 0–3 years of experience in commercial construction or related field

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred

  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and workflows

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings

  • Must pass background check for airport or government-related projects (DEN Badge eligibility and/or GSA SF85 Public Trust Clearance)

  • Experience with subcontractor/vendor coordination preferred

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines


Preferred Software Experience:

  • Procore (preferred)

  • Bluebeam

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)

  • BIM 360 (a plus)

  • Primavera P6 (a plus)


Certifications (Preferred or Required):

  • OSHA 30

  • First Aid / CPR

  • Forklift, Boom Lift, and/or Scissor Lift certifications a plus
