Project Engineer Job Description: 

The Project Engineer will support the project team in the successful and timely completion of construction projects ensuring proper document control for all phases of the project. 

Project Engineer Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with contract administration tasks including selection of appropriate subcontractors, preparing bid documents, creating bid evaluations, analyzing bids, and writing subcontractor contracts and change order agreements 
  • Provide organized and efficient document control including daily logs and monthly status reports 
  • Ensure an effective RFI/change order/shop drawing process and all documentation is completed in a timely manner 
  • Work directly with subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality and cost control 
  • Assist with setup and processing of subcontractor draws, payroll, materials, supplies, etc. and maintain proper materials inventory 
  • Track and document all inspections and re-inspections 
  • Assist in final completion via punch lists, clean and management turns 
  • In preparation for project completion, collect warranty material, create closeout documents to ensure an effective and efficient transition for project construction completion and close out 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Superintendent 

Project Engineer Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Business preferred 
  • 1+ year work experience or internship experience in Construction 
  • Proven record of success on large and/or complex projects 
  • Proficient with relevant construction technology; Procore experience a plus
