Project Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Independently identifies and completes tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Reviews and understands project drawings, specifications, and agreements.
  • Manages the RFI process to ensure timely and accurate resolution, distribution, and posting.
  • Prepares and distributes meeting minutes for relevant meetings.
  • Oversees the submittal process from start to closeout, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Leads procurement tracking, reviewing submittals, monitoring material orders, and addressing conflicts.
  • Understands and tracks project budgets, costs, material quantities, and production rates.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of various contract types and project delivery methods.
  • Collaborates with the QC manager and superintendents on QA/QC documentation and project milestones.
  • Ensures proper document management and trains team members in compliance processes.
  • Proactively seeks team members’ input to expand knowledge of commercial construction.
  • Supports and assists team members in their roles.
  • Anticipates and helps resolve issues across multiple scopes of work.
  • Organizes project documents for field teams during construction (e.g., foreman binder).
  • Leads project setup and maintains forms and logs throughout the construction phase.
  • Tracks and processes labor subcontractor timecards and invoices.
  • Assists with meeting setup, agenda drafting, and project closeout requirements.
  • Identifies ways to improve processes and procedures.

 

Project Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with managers, clients, and the public.
  • Problem-solving ability with limited standardization in variable situations.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow various instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and OSHA 10-hour.
