Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Independently identifies and completes tasks with minimal guidance.
- Reviews and understands project drawings, specs, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Oversees the RFI process, ensuring timely resolution, posting, and correct distribution.
- Prepares and distributes meeting minutes for necessary meetings.
- Manages the entire submittal process, holding team members and clients accountable for deadlines.
- Leads procurement tracking, reviewing submittals, monitoring material orders, and resolving conflicts.
- Understands and tracks the project budget, costs, material quantities, and production rates.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of owner contracts and project delivery types.
- Works with the QC manager and superintendents to document and closeout QA/QC items before milestones.
- Ensures proper document management and teaches others how to follow compliance processes.
- Leverages team members’ experience to enhance personal knowledge of commercial construction.
- Anticipates and resolves issues across different scopes of work.
- Organizes construction documents for field teams (e.g., foreman binder).
- Leads project setup and maintains forms and logs through construction.
- Tracks and processes subcontractor timecards and invoices.
- Assists with meeting setups and drafting agendas.
- Identifies and implements process improvements.
- Helps with project closeout as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Project Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with managers, clients, and the public.
- Problem-solving skills in situations with limited standardization.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to interpret written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Certifications: First Aid, CPR, OSHA 10-hour.
