Role Overview

This senior-level position is responsible for preparing and/or coordinating full estimates on large and complex projects. The Estimator III provides conceptual and final estimating input throughout the preconstruction phase of CM/GC, DB, and DBB projects (Construction Manager/General Contractor; Design-Build; Design-Bid-Build). This role may supervise junior staff members and typically requires 7+ years of construction estimating experience.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties of Estimator I and II roles, with added autonomy and leadership responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with business development and marketing teams on site visits to gather data for RFPs or estimates.
  • Perform detailed comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects.
  • Identify key project issues or opportunities that impact success.
  • Delegate estimating tasks and compile final estimates and reports.
  • Lead bidding processes, including solicitation, communication, proposal evaluation, and analysis.
  • Coach and mentor junior estimators and assist with department interviews and training programs.
  • Utilize and manage estimating tools, including dashboards, tracking logs, cost models, RFIs, and clarifications.
  • Stay current with computer software updates and attend relevant training programs and seminars.
  • Complete special assignments, projects, and duties as required by the executive team.
Qualifications
  • Education: 2-4 year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 7+ years of estimating experience, including industrial projects.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in estimating software and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Industry Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of construction methods, contracts, estimating processes, and labor productivity evaluation.
