Job Overview
This is a key position within the company, supporting various departments including Project Estimators, Business Development, Business Operations, Clients, Field Operations, and Senior Management. The primary role of the position is to manage the project life cycle by creating, implementing, and managing the processes and tools required for pre/post-award project management. This includes managing, tracking, and reporting approved project budgets, ensuring project financial goals are met, and establishing detailed project schedules. The role also involves procuring necessary resources and maintaining proactive communication with project principals regarding goals, objectives, expectations, ongoing status, issues, and corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand construction drawings.
- Communicate questions related to blueprints.
- Buy-out projects with vendors and subcontractors.
- Draft and manage vendor and subcontractor contracts.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules, applying CPM.
- Organize and manage project resources.
- Create and maintain project RFIs and submittals.
- Present change orders to project scope.
- Facilitate projects using industry-standard methodologies.
- Analyze problems and implement solutions.
- Organize and maintain large volumes of project documents.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Set and manage deadlines.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Collaborate with clients, colleagues, partners, and management.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with construction methods and contracts.
- Strong understanding of the construction project life cycle.
- Experience with scheduling and project management software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Experience creating and tracking project financials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
- Ability to pass a drug and background check.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering
- 10 years of experience in commercial construction
