Role Overview

The Project Superintendent oversees the field construction of projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and meets specified quality standards. This role is on-site full time and responsible for all field activities.

Responsibilities & Tasks

Safety

  • Partner with the Safety/Environmental Director to maintain high safety compliance through regular audits.
  • Conduct weekly on-site safety meetings with all personnel.

Quality

  • Develop site-specific quality programs and ensure project completion meets the highest standards.
  • Communicate quality policies, standards, and procedures to employees.
  • Hold subcontractors and vendors to established quality standards.

Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including initial review, weekly updates, and delay tracking.
  • Manage subcontractors to follow the master schedule and efficient sequencing of work activities.

Stormwater

  • Perform regular stormwater and post-storm audits.
  • Proactively manage pollution sources and the stormwater program.

Jobsite Management

  • Oversee subcontractors for full compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Ensure timely completion of project close-out and building commissioning.
  • Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide accurate monthly equipment and labor projections.
  • Conduct preconstruction and subcontractor meetings; participate in owner/architect meetings.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs documenting on-site activities.
  • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and other project-related documents weekly.
  • Treat clients, representatives, and design professionals with respect and professionalism.
Qualifications
  • 4–8 years of commercial superintendent experience.
  • Proven ability to manage projects of $20M or higher.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and team members.
  • Proficiency in reading and analyzing project documents (drawings, contracts, specifications, submittals).
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Bluebeam, and project scheduling software (Microsoft Project preferred).
  • Knowledge of subcontractor scopes of work, local stormwater regulations, and inspection processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is a plus!
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to step in with tools to ensure project momentum.
