Position Overview:

The Superintendent I & II will be responsible for overseeing the field operations of commercial construction projects. This role requires strong expertise in scheduling, risk management, site supervision, and employee development to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling

  • Maintain and update the CPM schedule throughout the construction phase.
  • Review schedule updates in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Identify potential schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the project schedule aligns with contract requirements and properly documents any delays.

Risk Management

  • Analyze project specifications to develop construction plans based on labor, equipment, and contract timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Complete daily reports using Procore.
  • Monitor and report on self-perform production budgets and costs.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure work quality and adherence to standards.
  • Conduct stormwater and safety inspections to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings and oversee Personal Risk Assessments (PRAs).
  • Investigate and document any job site incidents or accidents.

Site Management

  • Serve as the on-site representative, ensuring field supervision, coordination, and project completion.
  • Oversee project personnel, budgets, and schedules to meet objectives.
  • Manage subcontractors throughout the duration of the project.
  • Lead subcontractor and client meetings.
  • Conduct daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings with subcontractors.

Employee Development

  • Define staff responsibilities and support career growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations for team members.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is required.
  • Strong background in scheduling, QA/QC, safety, and field management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and adapt to dynamic construction environments.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction as a superintendent.
  • Willingness to travel regionally based on project needs.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial construction and renovation projects.
  • Ability to work under a Senior Superintendent on larger projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Salary Range:

$100,000 – $120,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications).
