An established and growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead field operations across ground-up commercial construction projects throughout the Greater Milwaukee area.

This role is ideal for a construction leader with deep knowledge of the Milwaukee market, strong relationships with local subcontractors, and experience working for a self-perform general contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing field operations, mentoring project teams, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for field operations on multiple commercial construction projects.
• Manage and mentor superintendents, foremen, and field personnel.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and self-perform crews.
• Maintain a safe jobsite and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company standards.
• Conduct site meetings and facilitate communication between stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to keep projects on schedule.
• Ensure quality control standards are met throughout all phases of construction.
• Collaborate closely with project management, estimating, and preconstruction teams.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, and trade partners.

QualificationsRequired

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience with progressive field leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Experience working for a self-perform general contractor.
• Strong network of Milwaukee-area subcontractors and trade partners.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large field teams and oversee multiple projects.
• Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain accountability for project safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.

Preferred

• Experience with healthcare, education, municipal, mixed-use, or corporate projects.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience overseeing projects valued at $10M+.
