Overview
Our client is seeking a Preconstruction Manager / Estimator to join their growing team in Austin. This is a unique opportunity for a mid-level estimator to step into a highly visible role with direct exposure to executive leadership and a clear path into a Preconstruction Manager position as the company continues to scale.

This hire will play a critical role in building out the firm’s preconstruction capabilities, working closely with the CEO and acting as a key contributor in client-facing efforts from the earliest stages of project pursuit.

Project Experience

• Commercial projects typically ranging from $2M – $10M
• Mix of interior build-outs and renovation work with select ground-up projects
• Fast-paced pipeline with repeat clients and high-end design teams

Key Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimating efforts (test fits, SD/DD/CD pricing)
• Provide quick-turn budgeting and pricing support for client pursuits
• Partner directly with the CEO in early-stage client meetings and presentations
• Support business development efforts with accurate, strategic preconstruction input
• Help establish and standardize estimating processes as the department grows
• Collaborate with project management teams to ensure seamless handoff from preconstruction to operations

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of estimating experience within a commercial general contractor
• Experience with interior build-outs and/or small to mid-size projects ($2M–$10M range)
• Strong ability to produce conceptual and early-phase estimates with limited design information
• Comfortable in a client-facing role with strong communication skills
• Self-starter who can operate independently and help build processes from the ground up
• Proficiency in standard estimating tools/software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc. a plus)
