Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Location: Austin, TX
Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits + Vehicle Allowance

We are partnered with a well-established commercial general contractor in the Austin market that is actively seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong tenure, a stable project history, and proven experience managing large-scale ground-up commercial construction projects.

This builder has a strong presence across K-12, higher education, healthcare, industrial, and large commercial projects, and is looking for a Project Manager who can lead projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining strong client relationships and driving successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ground-up commercial construction projects from start to finish
  • Oversee budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and project execution
  • Lead preconstruction efforts including buyout, scope review, value engineering, and cost control
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Work closely with Superintendents to ensure field operations align with project schedules and budgets
  • Review contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and support internal team development

Preferred Project Experience

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Tilt-Wall Construction
  • Concrete Structures
  • Large Commercial Ground-Up Projects
  • Public / Municipal Projects

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Strong tenure and stable work history required
  • Proven experience managing projects ranging from $20M+
  • Ground-up construction experience is required
  • Experience with public-sector, education, healthcare, or industrial projects is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and preconstruction processes
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
