Superintendent – Commercial Construction (Confidential Client)

Location: Austin, TX / San Antonio, TX / Central Texas Corridor (New Braunfels, San Marcos, Lockhart, Wimberley preferred)
Travel: Project-based travel between Austin and San Antonio required
Compensation: $160K – $170K Base + Benefits + Allowances

Overview

A leading commercial general contractor is actively seeking an experienced Superintendent to support ongoing and upcoming projects across the Central Texas market. This individual will play a key role in managing field operations, ensuring quality execution, and driving project schedules on a range of commercial construction projects.

The first project will be a $30M+ ground-up manufacturing facility, with a strong pipeline of additional work to follow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Superintendent seeking long-term growth, consistent project backlog, and advancement within a reputable commercial builder.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout
• Manage daily field operations, subcontractors, and site logistics
• Maintain and drive project schedules to ensure timely delivery
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure OSHA compliance
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, and ownership teams
• Lead subcontractor meetings and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders
• Monitor quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
• Identify and proactively resolve field issues to avoid delays

Project Experience (Required)

Candidates must have experience working on commercial construction projects $10M+ in value, including a combination of:

• Corporate Office / Tenant Improvement (TI) Projects
• Healthcare (clinics, MOBs, renovations in active environments)
• Industrial / Manufacturing Facilities (tilt-wall, warehouse, production environments)
• Retail / Hospitality Build-Outs and Ground-Up Projects
• Mid-Size Ground-Up Commercial Developments ($10M–$50M+)

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
• Proven experience delivering projects $10M+ in value
• Strong background in interior build-outs and/or ground-up commercial construction
• Experience with industrial or manufacturing projects is highly preferred
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and fast-paced project schedules
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
• OSHA 30 certification preferred

Location & Travel Requirements

• Must be based in or willing to commute within:
  • Austin
  • San Antonio
  • Or surrounding areas (New Braunfels, San Marcos, Lockhart, Wimberley preferred)
• Must be open to traveling between project sites in Austin and San Antonio
